Because of its simplicity and direct approach, this Teach Me Spanish review believes this system is very easy to use. It automatically adapts itself to your learning speed and includes a story with each lesson. You follow the story and add the appropriate words in the correct tenses to fill in the blanks.

At the end of each section there are tests to determine how well you are remembering what you learned. These tests are designed to test both your active vocabulary, the words you can understand and speak, as well as your passive vocabulary. A passive vocabulary is made up of the words you can read and understand but you do not yet have a strong enough handle on to use in conversation.

This tends to make learning a bit less fun. Also, the voice recognition part of the software is not the strongest available.
